Create Test Suites from Requirements

Create a test suite from a requirement or requirement folder by copying the common fields from the requirement to the test suite and linking associated test cases to the test suite.

This feature is useful:

  • When you have requirements with relevant test cases linked to them.

  • When you want to jump directly into the test suite execution as soon as the requirement is added.

  • When you want to track the execution of requirements with the same name as test suites and with the same values for common fields.

Note

  • The folder must contain at least one requirement.

  • You must have Create rights for the test suite module.

  • The requirements must have linked test cases.

  • Get role rights related to the Test Suite module, which are assigned from Roles.

The Create Test Suite from Folder option becomes available only when the pre-requisites are fulfilled.

Important

  • Test Suite Name and some common fields are filled in from the reference requirement.

  • Associated Releases and Cycles are automatically selected during Test Suite creation.

  • You can create another Test Suite from the same requirement by adding more test cases.

  • Once the test suite is created, link platforms to the test suite if not linked.

  • You can assign testers and track test execution history.

  • The test suite created from a requirement remains as an independent entity. Any changes to the requirement does not affect the test suite created from that requirement.
