Roles
A user role defines a user’s capability to access the modules and carry out functions under the role rights. Admin, QA Manager, Read only, and Tester are the default roles provided by QMetry.
A QMetry Admin can create custom roles in addition to the default roles. They can then assign these roles to users when adding them to QMetry projects.
After you sign in, the application displays only the modules and features that your assigned role permits.
Creating a User Role
To create a new user, perform the following steps:
Make this the default role for new LDAP/SAML users: Select the check-box to make the role to be assigned by default to every new LDAP/SAML user for the Project.
Go to Customization and select Roles.
Select New.
In the Create Roles screen, enter the following details:
Role Title: Enter name of the user role.
Role Description: Enter description of the user role.
Allocate the rights for each module.
The permissions are grouped into the following sections on the screen: Module Permissions, Administration, Automation, QMetry Intelligence, and System Settings.
Admin can Apply or Clear all rights using the following buttons:
Apply All Rights: Assign all rights of all modules to the Role at once.
Clear All Rights: Unselect the selected Permission check boxes in one go.
Select Create.
Note
The permissions are assigned to a role. All users with that role for that project have similar rights over the modules. Only Super Admins can modify Integration System(Jira/Azure) and System Settings permissions.
Editing User Roles
Expand Customization and select Roles on the sidebar.
Click Edit for the role to edit.
Make the required changes and click Update.
Deleting User Roles
Expand Customization and select Roles on the side bar.
To delete a user role, click Delete.
