Exporting Test Cases

Export test cases in multiple formats like Excel (XLSX or CSV), Word, and PDF. Excel exports offer a structured tabular format ideal for re-importing test cases, while Word and PDF formats are perfect for sharing readable, print-friendly documentation with stakeholders outside the system.

Note

The admin must enable Export Test Case permissions in the Roles section of the application.

Exporting Test Cases to Excel, PDF or Word

To export test cases in bulk, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the Test Case Module.

  2. Select the folder to list relevant Test Cases. You can apply filters to sort the list.

  3. Click the Cog (⚙️) icon and select Export.

  4. Select the export format (XLSX, CSV, PDF, Word).

  5. Click Next.

  6. Select Records: Select individual test cases.

  7. Export All Records: Select all test cases listed in the folder.

  8. Test Case Export Options

    Select options to export test case:

    • Export Test Cases with Steps in Multiple Rows: The test cases are exported with steps arranged in multiple rows of an Excel sheet.

    • Export Test Cases with Steps in a Single Row: Test cases are exported with all steps included in a single cell.

    • Export Test Cases without Steps: Test cases are exported without steps.

    Field Export Options

    • Visible Fields: This option excludes all columns that are hidden.

    • All Fields: This option exports all fields irrespective of whether the columns are visible or hidden.

    Note

    The test case description and step description fields are included in the export irrespective of any field export options.

  9. Click Export.

  10. Click Yes to proceed.

Track the export progress and download the exported file from Scheduled Tasks.

Exporting a Single Test Case Detail to PDF or Word

Note

  • You must have "View" permission for the Report module and “Export” permission for the Test Case module.

  • The PDF or Word icon is visible only if you have the required permissions.

To export a single test case to PDF or Word, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the Test Case detail page.

  2. Click the PDF icon or Word icon on the header.

  3. Select Page orientation as Portrait(default) or Landscape.

Note

For eSignature-enabled projects, the report also includes Approval Workflow details for the test case.
